Family Weekend 2009
Online registration for Family Weekend is now available.  We strongly encourage you to register early for Family Weekend since certain events will sell out due to the popularity of Family Weekend and limited space availability. For more information, including the full schedule of events, visit the Family Weekend Web site at www.familyweekend.umd.edu.  We look forward to seeing you at Family Weekend!

Help is Needed for the 7th Annual Silent Auction
Donations are needed for the 7th Annual Maryland Parents Association Silent Auction, which will be held during Family Weekend.  All proceeds from the Silent Auction benefit the UM Parents Association Student Scholarship Fund and gifts made to the Association are tax-deductible.
Help support this important effort by donating an item for the auction or soliciting friends and/or businesses in your area for contributions. Suggestions include weekend or week-long stays at vacation homes, restaurant gift certificates, tickets to shows, gift baskets, paintings/collectable prints, UM memorabilia, spa/massage services, teeth whitening... the sky is the limit.  And, don't feel limited by location—in addition to our Maryland families, we have lots of families from the Boston, New York, New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and south Florida regions.
Click here to access the Silent Auction Donation Form (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).

UM Alert

Please encourage your student to register for UM Alert—the university's emergency text messaging system. UM Alert is a software-based web application that allows the University of Maryland to send emergency text messages to cell phones, pagers, BlackBerries, PDAs, and/or e-mail accounts. When an emergency occurs on the campus, the university will send a text message within minutes to all registered devices. UM Alert is a connection to real-time updates, instructions on where to go, what to do, or what not to do, who to contact and other important information. Click here for more information.
