Parents as Partners

The Parents as Partners campaign provides parents, family members and friends with an important opportunity to influence their student's success at the University. By making a gift to this initiative, parents and families enable the Office of Parent and Family Affairs and the Maryland Parents Association to continue efforts aimed at improving the quality of their student's undergraduate experience.

Contributions to the Parents as Partners campaign help sustain programs sponsored by the Office of Parent and Family Affairs and directly support the Parents Association Initiatives Fund. The Initiatives Fund enables the Maryland Parents Association to support issues such as alcohol education, health and wellness programs, Career Center outreach, weekend programming, and advising and teaching awards.

Each year, the Parent Advisory Council allocates finances through the Initiatives Fund to provide grants for existing programs in the Division of Student Affairs as well as for new programs designed to enhance the academic and co-curricular experience at Maryland. The Parent Advisory Council also allocates money to the Parents Association Scholarship Fund, which provides an award each year to a student in good standing who demonstrates financial need and who may be unable to continue his or her education at the University due to extenuating financial circumstances.

Contributions can also be made online through the Maryland Fund for Excellence. Click here to access the online donation form.  To ensure your contribution goes directly to the Parents Association fund, please select "Other" in the Select Fund field, then write "Parents Association Initiative Fund" in the blank field next to "Specify 'Other' Fund or School/College."

All donors who make a contribution of $100 or more to the Parents Association Initiatives Fund/Parents as Partners Campaign will receive a Maryland Parents Association embroidered fleece blanket as our free gift of thanks to you.
